Today, I was cleaning the bathrooms at work. An older gentlemen came in and needed to use it. He said to me "Oh no, PLEASE stay, just don't look." I don't get paid enough for this. FML

I find it terrifying that he said "please".

Ya that's bullshit, he wouldn't even let you look. FYL

Do you people seriously not have manners? My guess, especially if he's old, probably was raised to say please and thank you. That includes when you interrupt someone who's working. Don't flatter yourself, he just felt bad for being an inconvenience.

He sounds scared or insecure. Maybe he wants you nearby in case he gets hurt so you can help. Maybe he's just really lonely, I don't know. I don't think he means to be creepy.

suprises he didnt ask more then staying ^.0 fyl that sucks

maybe he just meant you could keep working and not have to leave and wait for him to finish

Exactly #44. I fail to see this as any more than a tiny inconvenience, not an FML. You mistook his meaning and his intention NOT to interrupt your job.

Maybe he needed help with getting out or he faints sometimes or something. Elderly people have problems they're embarrassed to explain sometimes.

He was trying to make things more convenient for you. Save you the trouble of leaving and coming back to finish cleaning.
