Hell, my family is UGA to the core, but how do you NOT get into UGA? The only reason I applied there was as a backup school because I knew I'd get in. But I never wanted to go there - be glad you won't end up with a bunch of drunk ass bros and hos.
Contrary to popular belief, UGA is not as easy to get into anymore : So most of you who are jumping to conclusions based on stereotypes, do some research. I have plenty of friends who were well-involved with school, had high GPA's (3.9-4.1) and didn't get in. Anyways, OP, sorry to hear that. I'm sure you'll find somewhere to go - like GCSU! Being in Atlanta would be a bunch of fun.
Sunshine - You're absolutely right. I have a 3.7 and took a bunch of AP classes and all that and didn't get in. If 20,000+ people apply with a 3.9, its getting really, really difficult. I hope you have other options! Don't get too down, there are other doors that will open.
I applied to UGA. Most of my friends applied to UGA. I know the requirements for the school. Plus, we have the HOPE scholarship which pays for tuition if you have a 3.0, so even MORE great students apply to UGA simply because of that. A 3.9 could very well have been the cut off for this year.
As a UGA student, I can say with complete honesty that all of you people who think that UGA is a crap school are WRONG. If you look, our honors program is ranked with the Ivy League. We have plenty of people who don't drink and aren't "hoes", and the fact that you didn't get in isn't personal. Because of the economy, everyone wants to stay close to home. UGA only accepts x number of people from each county, so it really is cutthroat this year. They're big on extracurriculars- as well as rigor of work. If you took all CP classes, for instance, and had no extracurriculars- well, then, you're probably not going to get in, even if you had a 3.8. Oh- for all you Techies- I got accepted to Tech as well. I (obviously) chose UGA.

There are other colleges and chances. Did you at least get to enjoy the party anyway? In your situation, I'd make the best of it.
It's alright, you'll get in somewhere! I'm at my fall-back school and I'm loving every minute of it! So hang in there..
