Today, I was driving to the DMV to take a test, after getting some points removed from my license. On the way there, I got a speeding ticket and got my license suspended completely. FML

Try learning to drive how you're supposed to. That might help.

Took me a minute but I think it is an abbreviation for "sorry" Seriously, 16? That's almost as bad as "Nine-Elevs"

Yes it's totally nearly as bad as flippantly abbreviating a very tragic loss of life, I really should be ashamed of myself and take this website more seriously like everyone else.

I think you just need to stop commenting and go outside. They're talking about the abbreviation from a previous FML, not the actual event.

YDI. Drivers like you make the roads unsafe for everyone. I can understand a ticket or two, but enough to get your license suspended? Get off the roads.

This amuses me. Some of the worst drivers are the ones doing the exact speed limit. I would rather have everyone speeding then the drivers who don't look when switching lanes or use turn signals when merging.

In general, if you're driving at the speed of the road, and driving safely, even if it's above the speed limit, you don't get a lot of tickets. Perhaps photo radar tickets, but getting those don't cause you to lose your license.

I'd rather have speeder than those that blatantly cut you off and damn near causes a massive wreck.

I have a lead foot. I've been caught once, took a driver's improvement class to get rid of the ticket, and now I'm careful not to go more than 10 mph over the speed limit. It's not difficult.

So everyone in here is a law abiding citizen who follows every traffic law? By a show of hands how many people replied using there phones while driving (regardless if your at a light)...how many people have driven tipsy...don't pass judgement because I guarantee you do illegal stuff without realizing it

OP still deserves it if they were speeding, regardless of everyone elses driving faults..

I've done all of the above at the same time when I was younger and stupider. And if I'd been caught and posted it here I would have expected a 100% YDI vote on here. And that would include my own.

I don't drive, but my husband does. He has his phone off when he drives and if he goes past the speeding limit, he corrects himself.

Is this an American thing? Because most people I know (myself included) would never drive under influence or use their phone. Also going like 5 km/h over the limit if you pay enough attention to brake instantly is a bit different from getting your license taken away (for which I assume you'd have to be alot faster). If you are one of those assholes who drive 50 or 60 km/h in a 30 zone, then **** you.

26, they don't take your license away for speeding one time. Op was caught speeding after having previously been caught violating traffic laws. I got a speeding ticket once. I started paying more attention to what I was doing. And no, I don't play on my phone while driving nor do I drive "tipsy".

So because people have done stupid stuff when they were younger they can't say it's a bad idea they regret it and judge someone for it? OP is a repeat offender and the idea well you did it to and can't say anything is bullshit. We've done stupid stuff and most passing judgement admit it was stupid and we would've deserved what we got if we got caught. The don't judge mentality is poisonous, right up there with yolo.

Most people don't drive drunk or use their phones while driving. Do you try to convince yourself that's it's normal so you won't feel as guilty about it?

Cruse control at or below or a little bit above the speed limit...
