Today, I was feeling down about being the only single person out of a group of eight friends. Out of desperation, I made up "Jonny", a hot fitness instructor whom I recently hooked up with. Now "Jonny" and I have been invited to a friends night out. FML

Never lie to your friends about friends. It makes you lose your actual ones.

Good luck finding that hot fitness instructor.

Hit the yellow pages and find a male escort service quick! Or... "Jonny" died last night. *tear

Luckily you picked a common name... Maybe you can scoop up a hot fitness instructor named Jonny before the date night... Or you could just be honest with your friends. You're kind of a liar and liars are lame. Being single isn't all that bad... Get a grip.

If they're really your friends you should respect them more than to lie to them about something stupid like this. Tell them things didn't work out with Johnny, and if you're that desperate to meet someone why don't you get them to set you up with one of their boyfriend's friends??

Being in a relationship is so overrated. Just relax OP!

Well it is worrying that you would feel you need to lie about relationships to your friends... Since friends are the ones who should not care about you being single and also not care about more extreme stuff people could have going wrong in their lives. That is the point off friends. If you know these friends will judge you, I suggest you tell them they you and this 'Johnny' broke up, then find better ones. If not then be honest! They may see this as a sign to wingman you like mates should.

Just get any hot instructor and name him johny :p

just hit up xsport fitness pretty sure you will find someone that resembles "Jonny"

Well there's your problem!! You should have went with a McDonald's employee, there's bound to be one of them named Johnny around somewhere that would totally be down for a night out.

I'm pretty sure they already know he's not real - no real person spells Johnny like that.

My girlfriend's brother spells his name that way.

It was an exaggeration...yes, there will be some that spell it 'Jonny' but the most common and generally preferred spelling is 'Johnny'. Same as people spelling Sophie as Soephy or Soafie or whatever abomination parents/teenage girls come up with nowadays.
