Today, I was fired. Why? Because I called in sick on my daughter's birthday, even though you cannot "abandon work for personal affairs". My boss's favorite employee got to skip work on his wife's birthday two weeks ago. He still works here. FML

Today, I called into work because of a family emergency. My boss was understanding; my coworker? He tore me a new one because his wife wanted him to take the day off, which he didn't because it was going to be a tough day at work. He also threatened to find a way he could get me fired. FML

We all lie at some point. I think the reason he did it is well justified and the fact he got fired says only one thing: that particular job probably sucked. Whether or not he brought this upon himself with past occurences is unknown, but, for the most part, we can say that this is the only reason he got fired and its wrong.
