I don't normally say this kind of thing, but press charges. It doesn't matter if he's your relative; he saw that you'd been slipping and knowingly undertook an action that very well could have killed you. At best it was reckless negligence, at worst attempted murder. He needs to face the consequences of actions that could easily have ended your life.
I doubt they were going up Everest, no offense but there's no charges to press. People that trigger happy are the reason our courts and legal system never make any progress- they're inundated with this kind of fluff. This is a site for laughs and venting, thank God no one takes these comments seriously !
Three fractured ribs are not ''fluff'' dear.
How do this many people think OP deserved that?
Either they missed the FYL button, or they are just a troll.
It might be time to clarify to your uncle that "ribbing" is not a physical action.
That's actually really scary... And serious. Why would anyone think that's okay to do? -__-
That's 9ne way to make your holidays a little more awkward. Seriously though that's a nice lawsuit.
your uncle is a top of the range idiot

Tell your uncle to take a hike! I know, I know, I'll show myself out...
Did you make him carry you the rest of the hike?
