Today, I was in the elevator, when a big bearded guy stepped in, wearing a dress. It's not an uncommon sight where I live, but my friend cracked up and asked him if he was wearing underwear. He took it as a challenge, and I can safely say that no, he was not. FML

I'm a big tattooed bearded guy and I often wear kilts... traditional style. (no underwear) Nothing makes me want to punch people more than when I'm asked if it's a dress or a skirt. You sure this guy was wearing a dress and not a kilt!?! Hahaha!!!

A similar thing happened to my friend's husband when he moved from Japan. He often wore a kimono while shopping (and a yukata in Summer) and many people would laugh at him or ask why he was wearing a "dress". I remember a particularly unfortunate coffee date where one of my "friends" kept laughing at the fact that both the bride and groom were wearing "dresses" in their wedding photos. It's sad how ignorant some people are about other cultures. :(

I know someone who wants a sex change who wears dresses. It would be incredibly upsetting if this happened to him. People need to watch their mouths.
