Today, I was invited to a counseling group for people with emotional problems. I brought the permission slip home for my mom to sign, only for her to accuse me of being a hypochondriacal, lazy, selfish bitch. And my friends wonder why I have problems. FML

Today, my mother threw a fit because the psychologist she got me suggested I visit a psychiatrist. Apparently, it's my fault because I "choose" to be so "crazy". FML

Today, my mom found out that I've been having counselling behind her back for the past 4 years. I broke down in tears explaining everything. Her response was, "So you go and bitch about me behind my back?!" And she wonders why I'm depressed. FML

Today, my manipulative mother got upset and started ignoring me. All because she lectured me about doing too much for other people, then proceeded to tell me all her problems, and I actually took her advice. Other people's problems are not my responsibility to fix. FML

Today, my mom sent me to a counselor she knew "through the church" so that I could get some stressors off my chest. Worst idea ever. This "counselor" invalidated everything I had to say and basically told me to pray the issues away, all while completely ignoring me. FML

Today, I was crying to my sister that my therapist office messed up and didn’t schedule my appointment. My mom overheard and yelled, "You don’t need that mess anyway! Just pray about it!” Being raised with her religious fanaticism is what led to my insomnia, anxiety, depression, and guilt complex. FML

Today, my shrink diagnosed me as severely depressive, due to a lot of stress and yells at home. After the session, my parents argued about whose fault it was and then went on to yell at me for being depressive and wasting their money. FML

Sounds EXACTLY like something my mom would say. I hope you can work these issues out as soon as possible; I've been in counseling for nearly seven years because of abuse like that. :(

It's sad how many times I've had to say something like that to my friends regarding their batshit insane parents. And it's ****** weird cause most of my friends ACTUALLY have batshit or overly religious parents, completely inept at being a proper parent. And you're always looked down upon for even mentioning the idea, "MY parents? Why on Earth would I do that? They're my parents, they brought me here, I should be thankful."

If it helps at all, I've been there, too. I think some parents are just terrified of the idea that something might be wrong with their kid, so they shout instead. It's none of her business, though, this is about you - I'm with Jimboom, forge it.
