Today, I was on a ladder at work, fetching some stock from one of the storage shelves. Some teenage kid thought it would be fucking hilarious to grab the ladder and violently shake it. He hadn't bet on me being startled enough to fall off and fracture my elbow on the floor. FML

It takes a ladder to show all the other stupid lads how it's done .

Had you gone commando, he just would have gazed up in astonished wonder. I don't want to blame the victim, but, y'know, for future reference. . .

I would say beat him up but that might cause you pain.

I have shattered my elbow. I feel your pain.

Hopefully you'll be capable of charging him for that. That's assault. The fact is that OP could have died from that fall. OP could have been paralyzed from that fall. A fractured elbow is lucky. It doesn't take a lot of common sense to realize those risks, and yet they were worth it for the kid to have his little laugh, so I'm really hoping that he rots in a cell somewhere. No 'prank' on someone else that you do not know is a harmless action. That wedgie some teenager gives the man in the mall could rupture stitches from a recent surgery that the kid was unaware of. A 'surprise trust fall' can break another person's bones. These situations are avoidable, and are not in anyway accidents. If we crack on down on these stupid 'pranks', and charge the people responsible with assault and murder when their fun ends badly, we can make the message clear that this is not acceptable.

Nice analysis. In Texas that would be a Sec. 22.01(a)(1) ...intentionally causing bodily injury...assault. That's a Class A misdemeanor, good for $4,000 in fines and 1 year in jail.

I know it's off subject, but I can't be the only one who notices that a majority of FMLs come from Australia.. Coincidence? I think not!

Only 1,068 of all the 21,992 FMLs are from Australia. Hardly a majority, even multiplied by 10.

I'm from Australia and it seems as though majority of the FMLs are from America, I can't get a single one of my FMLs posted

They seem to come and go in streaks. One week it seemed that every other fml was Canadian. Possibly it's just that people get inspired by a countryman/woman getting one published and increase their submission numbers in the surrounding days?

that's why there should be someone reliable holding a ladder when your on it.

Or, you know, people could just not pull immature pranks... There's that, too.

This is what give teens such a bad image. =/

You should have just jumped on him. Have you not watched WWE? Frog splash?

Frog splash requires your opponent to be laying on the ground. Missile drop kick that ignorant little shit.
