Today, I was out on a family walk, when I overheard two women talking to each other. One of them was wondering how a kid with such good looking parents and grandparents could be so ugly. That kid is my daughter. FML

Hi OP here, a little extra detail. My little girl (7 years old) is having her "bad haircut faze" she is self conscious about it and it didn't help that she overheard this obnoxious woman! I had to spend hours building back up her confidence. It was truly a horrible thing to do. Sorry it doesn't show up as mine as I posted it from my phone and then made an account!

On the plus side, they're saying you're good looking! That being said, not every kid is pretty. But it's still a pretty nasty thing to do to say stuff like that where the kid can hear it.

You've taken me back, OP. My father cut my hair exactly like a boy's when I was in first grade. On top of that, my parents rarely put me in dresses or skirts, so plenty of adults, even my own teachers, mistook me for a boy. Kids at school would make fun of me for looking like a boy, too. That went on for months. So, I feel her pain. Hopefully she'll get through it. Your love and support make all the difference! Too bad you didn't stomp those bitches out, though. Little kids might not know better, but two grown women? Unbelievable!

My sister look like a pitbull when she was born(she said this herself). Now she looks gorgeous and got married 3 years ago. So meh, screw them haters.

I really hope she feels better. Lots of kids go through an awkward stage and grow up attractive. Just look at Charlize Theron. Honestly, I can't imagine what would possess a grown person to smash a child's self-esteem.

Ah yes, the bad haircut! Everyone has been there, though I admit, in my case, it was self inflicted... And I wasn't 7.... Hopefully she will be able to laugh about this incident in the future OP but I agree that these women should have kept their nasty comments to themselves!

A pitbull...or Pitbull? Frankly I don't know which is worse

A good thing to remind your daughter OP, is that looks will eventually fade, and that her self confidence shouldn't rest on them alone. While everyone likes to think they're beautiful (and everyone should FEEL beautiful, regardless of their looks), that generally comes from having self confidence and pride in oneself, not in how the world sees you. Plus everyone has that haircut they wish they could erase from their past. XD I have some wonderful mushroom cut photos lurking in my youth.

Perhaps you could've bitten back at them

I remember when I cut my hair when I was little. My mom didn't want to take me to get a haircut that day so I decided to take it into my own hands. Unfortunately that meant cutting one piece of hair that ended up sticking up. So I kinda had Alfalfa hair for a while. Lol

iv had two horrible haircut phases. one time i stupidly cut a chunk of my fringe off for a dare so i ended up looking like clark kent. then my auntie cut mu hair and it's so thick it went triangle so everyone called me toblerone head :( school was horrible

Please tell your daughter that's she's gorgeous and that those two women will never be as beautiful as she is.

I can't believe that some assholes are talking like that about a 7 years old girl.

I looked like a bull dog as a kid with really saggy cheeks and hardly any hair grew out as a young child. Every child will grow into their own beauty and its wrong of a person to make that child self concious.

You should have bitch slapped that woman for that.

You should coax her into a more intellectual life. If she never does turn out to be a looker, at least she'll have a good job, a great education, and a life of her own. If she does turn out to be good looking, well... Then she'll have it all! ;) Look forward to the later years, and tell your daughter to do the same.

You know that girl that was ugly growing up but then you see her after a few years and she's the hottest girl you've ever seen. yah, don't worry op. those ladies will eat their words soon enough.

If I was you, I'd have told that horrible person "please stop talking about yourself like that, you're not THAT ugly"

Did you or did you not call them out

plastic surgery does not cover genes

I'm not sure there is anything to cover your stupid ass comment #41......

Yes there is #111! The thumbs down button! :D

Coming from a guy who's doing the duck face. Good one, jerk.

I would have said something to my family like, 'Hey, look at those women. They have ugly attitudes which makes them ugly, nasty people.'

at least they called you pretty! :)

Don't listen to them. Your daughter will grow up to be beautiful, and they will be the ones who are ugly.
