Maybe your lost in translation. It's easy to get lost. But if you feel that's what they are saying then I wouldn't go over there anymore. Or next time you do and you hear them say something ask them why in Italian. That would teach them a lesson but also start a real conversation. Good luck and protect yourself emotionally.

Turn the tables and tell them what miserable excuses for grandparents they are in Italian, then calmly get up and leave. Sounds like you're a good grand kid so if they're not going to appreciate the time you spend with them don't waste it on them!
