Today, I was riding the subway, reading a book, when a woman suddenly shoved a flyer over my book. Aghast by her rude gesture, I declined to take the paper. I looked over and noticed it was a flyer for a missing girl. FML

Still no reason to just shove it over op's book. I'm sure if the woman handed it normally, op would understand.

In sure I would have done the same thing

She is lucky you didn't just whoop her ass. Some people would have got in her face about interupting them like that.

I don't care what the flyer was, it was still rude if her to shove it in your face like that.

Recently I was at the mall and this guy shoved a tin my face and said something really fast that I didn't catch; I said "no thanks" and kept walking. He wanted a donation for his sick kid :/ I felt bad too but rude is rude.

Don't matter what it's for, she doesn't have to be a bitch

If that's the worst thing you've seen on the subway consider yourself lucky. Of course I mean the rude behavior not the missing girl sign

I understand that it's a flyer of a missing girl but it's still rude to shove a piece of paper in someones face

Agreed. What's wrong with a simple "excuse me, but ..."?

The contents of the flier don't change the fact that it was shoved into your face. The ends don't justify the means etc etc. She was still rude, would it have killed her to say "excuse me, have you seen this child, they're missing?"

Rude is rude, no matter if her cause was good or not.
