honestly, this isn't your fault at ALL. and if they are cat breeders (which i'd expect they are, since they have a kitten that young), they should know how to deal with death. most cat breeders have stepped on newborns, accidentally lost a newborn, or have some sort of experience dealing with accidental kitten murders. otherwise, they shouldn't be cat breeders. as for falling asleep on the job, i don't see what's so wrong about that. i know that when i babysit for my mom's co worker, the kid is around 12 anyways so it's not like he can't take care of himself, so i tend to snooze off once in a while while he is sleeping all the time.

oh no, how sad! Just FYI people, sometimes adults go out late when they have someone watching their kids and allow the babysitter to sleep over. Are you telling me the parents NEVER EVER sleep when their kids are sleeping in the house??? The OP isn't irresponsible for falling asleep while babysitting, no one can be awake constantly in the house of a child. (Speaking as a mother of twins here! I wouldn't mind if the person watching my kids took a nap while my kids were sleeping and I was still out, as long as he or she could hear the baby monitor.) And obviously it was an accident and the OP feels awful. Accidents happen and this is the worst kind. :( How sad! I'm so sorry. Hopefully the people you were babysitting for were sympathetic and understand.

#54 4 weeks is too young for a kitten to be adopted. The only way this is possible is if your neighbors breed kittens, and you didn't mention that, so I doubt they do. Nice try. I'm sure the OP realized that writing down where the cat was breeded wasn't as important as telling what happened. Also, everyone saying the OP is terrible, accidents happen.
