Today, I was watching some episodes of The Walking Dead with my boyfriend, after recently introducing him to the series. A scene involving Carl came on, and my boyfriend said, "God damn. You ever give me a kid that annoying, I'll shoot both of ya right in the head." FML

Ok, downvotes I'll get for this aside, lets think about the Carl thing in terms of if a Zombpocalypse was really happening. For one, he's a kid! Two, he wakes up one morning and there are zombies. Everywhere. That's bound to **** a kid up in and of itself. Three, after realizing said zombies are milling about he has to grapple with the fact that his father is "dead". Four, his mom moves on and starts screwing this new guy. Five, dead dad comes back and that creates drama. Six, mom gets knocked up by new guy. 7, mom is pregnant during a zombie apocalypse. 8, mom dies and now everyone has to help take care of this little baby during, guess what? A ******* zombie apocalypse. I'd go on but you get the point. Any kid would be an annoying pain in this scenario because everything is traumatic! The poor kid's world has been turned upside down and his behavior is a reflection of that. I think the show does a pretty damn good job of depicting that and if other people don't get that, well, I guess it sucks to be so annoyed by a TV character.

Hm, going completely OT here, but... The problem with the show as well as with the comic is that pretty much everyone acts erratic and pretty much behaves like an asshole. And the characters that don´t do that get killed. And Carl is just the worst of them - he is NEVER doing what grown ups tell him and gets other people killed that way. I think in a zombie apocalypse I would make it VERY clear to my kid that it is a question of survival for everyone that he does as he is told to. Yet, he does as he pleases and when he pleases, endangers people all the time and NEVER gets punished for it, because his dick of a father overindulges him. And now that little asshole became a BIG asshole, since he starts to kill people. But then again, children learn by example and his father is just the biggest asshole of all, so maybe he just HAD to become one too. If I would meet the two in a zombie apocalypse I would rather try my luck alone, since one of the two WILL get you killed sooner or later.

Poor "Carl" aka Chandler Riggs is going to be typecasted as the little asshole on The Walking Dead. He will never get another acting role without people first thinking: douchebag Carl. I am sure he is a sweet kid in real life though.
