Today, I was wearing a new 500 dollar dress on a crowded train. I looked great and I could feel the eyes on me. A cute guy then offered me his seat, only boosting my confidence more until he said "for you and the baby," pointing at a bump in my dress. I'm not pregnant and wasted 500 dollars. FML

i think everyone deserves to splurge on themselves every once in a while, and maybe the OP has been saving up to buy something that made her feel truly beautiful. is there anything wrong with that? because if there is, women can just stop putting so much effort into their appearance and say **** it all to the assholes who assume things and judge women without actually knowing their facts. So maybe instead of trashing the OP for wanting to feel special, we should have some sympathy for her, as well as all the women who are made to feel fat or ugly despite all the effort and time and money that we put into our appearance!

Horizontal waists accentuate your tummy. Verticals make it smaller. If you have big hips bust or waist it's best to go with vertical patterning/lace etc. And as for small hips bust or waist, horizontal's better. It's what my mum always said.
