Today, I went back to school after missing the first 2 weeks of the new school year. I got grilled in my first lesson by my teacher for "gallivanting around on holiday in some sunny place" when I should've been at school learning. My dad had died from liver cancer. FML

Today, my teacher announced that he'd be out for a week because he was going to Vegas. I happily said, "Woo hoo!" Then he finished his sentence by telling me it was because his dad had died. FML

Today, my English teacher asked me why I didn't have my project completed. Thinking quick on my feet, I told her it was because my grandmother had just passed away. Apparently they go to the same country club and have known each other for years. My teacher started crying and ran out of the room. FML

Today, I had to go to my daughter's school because she hasn't been going to class. Her teacher seemed surprised to see me with my husband when we arrived. Apparently I "died" recently and my daughter has had extra responsibility around the house, hence why she doesn't come to class. FML

Today, after I missed in school for two and a half weeks, I also missed three tests. Now I gotta work for all of them during my holidays and read two books for school. My holidays are just gonna be like school, but with more work. FML

Today, I left for college. I spent hundreds of dollars on clothes, bedding and other things. After packing my entire closet and everything else I needed, I left only to have to head back home. My dad forgot to pay the first semesters tuition. He said "Oh well, you would have failed out anyway." FML

Today, I got sent out of the class for "inappropriate" behaviour. The teacher later forgot about me and sent a notice home to my parents stating that I skipped class. FML

Today, I spent my first day with my parents for the first time in a year as I've been away at university. My dad went to work, and my mum spent the whole day playing mahjong with her friends as they all told me "how fat I've gotten" and how "boys won't like it". FML

This is probably one of those very rare instances where you could cuss out your teacher big time and get away with it... after you have explained to the head teacher that you father just died of course.

aww, sorry about your dad. I would've cussed her out. Or to at least be a little more respectful I would've spoken to her after class. Haha or say really loudly to one of my friends "That's not cool, My dad died." :P hahahaha.

A while back I had a grandfather who died, and i missed quite a bit of school. When i came back, one particular teacher was an ass, quite like the OP's teacher. One thing you should know is that I'm inherently mellow, I never swear, and almost never act out. Teacher's Pet, Goody Goody, etc... Once that teacher called me out on my absence, I walked up to her - only an inch or two from her, and told her exactly why I was absent with barely contained rage dripping from my voice. You know how some people get absolutely pissed and don't yell and scream, and talk in that steady cold voice? That's me. Then I told her I was leaving the class, and if she valued her health she wouldn't follow me. I left, she didn't follow me (good thing), and I got a visit from the school counsoler again, which was a good thing too. Also got a reputation for being somewhat of a badass for that.
