Today, I went back to school after missing the first 2 weeks of the new school year. I got grilled in my first lesson by my teacher for "gallivanting around on holiday in some sunny place" when I should've been at school learning. My dad had died from liver cancer. FML

Today, my teacher announced that he'd be out for a week because he was going to Vegas. I happily said, "Woo hoo!" Then he finished his sentence by telling me it was because his dad had died. FML

Today, my English teacher asked me why I didn't have my project completed. Thinking quick on my feet, I told her it was because my grandmother had just passed away. Apparently they go to the same country club and have known each other for years. My teacher started crying and ran out of the room. FML

Today, I had to go to my daughter's school because she hasn't been going to class. Her teacher seemed surprised to see me with my husband when we arrived. Apparently I "died" recently and my daughter has had extra responsibility around the house, hence why she doesn't come to class. FML

Today, after I missed in school for two and a half weeks, I also missed three tests. Now I gotta work for all of them during my holidays and read two books for school. My holidays are just gonna be like school, but with more work. FML

Today, I left for college. I spent hundreds of dollars on clothes, bedding and other things. After packing my entire closet and everything else I needed, I left only to have to head back home. My dad forgot to pay the first semesters tuition. He said "Oh well, you would have failed out anyway." FML

Today, I spent my first day with my parents for the first time in a year as I've been away at university. My dad went to work, and my mum spent the whole day playing mahjong with her friends as they all told me "how fat I've gotten" and how "boys won't like it". FML

This is probably one of those very rare instances where you could cuss out your teacher big time and get away with it... after you have explained to the head teacher that you father just died of course.

When my brother was murdered I took 2 months off from school (high school) and when I went back people (students & teachers) gave me so much bad attitude. At the end of my first day back I was in tears. People can really suck, OP. Sorry for your loss.

I don't understand why so many teachers get mad at someone for missing school. It wasn't your fault someone close died. It sucks. Sorry for eveyones losses

This is probably the most legit excuse for missing school for two months. Dealing with a parent or sibling dying of natural causes is already hard enough, but the added stress of it being a murder case? I'm very sorry. That's just awful. I hope you've found peace by now.

In reply to sdras I assumed it was a woman as the teacher of mine who I can imagine doing this is a woman I hope that any ydi's are accidental I do think people are overreacting about the teacher, their a bitch but not that bad that they deserve to be fired. Sorry for your loss

For the grammer nazis buggin' out about my spelling I'll have you know I have an A in english (which includes spelling if you didn't know) and OP I'm very sorry for your loss and the teacher is an asshole for not letting you explain.
