Today, I went on a date with a guy that I really like. At the last minute he informed me a friend would be tagging along. To keep his friend from being a third-wheel, I kept up a conversation, and managed to piss my date off. He thought I would be a better match for his friend. FML

Today, I had a date with a guy. We ran into our gay friend at the theater, who insisted on coming along. My date was pissed, but I couldn't turn our friend away. Afterwards, my date texted our friend, mad because he crashed the date. Turns out he isn't gay. And only crashed it because he likes me. FML

That really sucks, OP. I don't know why he bothered to take you on a date if he wasn't even interested. Perhaps you WILL be a better match? :D Seems you two got along pretty well anyways. Regardless, I hope you have better dating luck from now on!

While that does suck that that happened, I thank you for trying to include the friend. I have been that friend many times and I'm always the third wheel. It's never fun.

But maybe you would be a better match for his friend. Sometimes that's not always a bad thing. Maybe he found you attractive but after watching you both interact thought you're more what his friend is looking for? Or he's an overly sensative jerk, in which case maybe you'd be better off with his friend anyway?
