Today, I went on a date with a guy that I really like. At the last minute he informed me a friend would be tagging along. To keep his friend from being a third-wheel, I kept up a conversation, and managed to piss my date off. He thought I would be a better match for his friend. FML

Should've just stuck to actual date rule and not bring his friend along.

That really sucks, OP. I don't know why he bothered to take you on a date if he wasn't even interested. Perhaps you WILL be a better match? :D Seems you two got along pretty well anyways. Regardless, I hope you have better dating luck from now on!

I have no idea why my comment was moderated but what I said was: I hope you ended up saying, "Yeah, you're probably right" and took his friend on a date.

Maybe it's just my eyes, but "Damn, first comment and I have nothing witty nor useful to say." doesn't look anything like "Yeah, you're probably right". Don't be a dishonest idiot, thanks.

Wow. He brought the friend along, but became pissed because you talked to the man? That is just ridiculous! Don't feel bad for beeing the better person!

Who knows, maybe you and his friend will grow into something, and I don't know why he'd bring another person along anyways if he didn't expect you to socialize. I've been the third wheel before and it is really awkward to just sit there quietly..so at least you were nice enough to make him feel welcome

Maybe, in a weird, ****** up way, that was his plan? He might not have had the balls to break it off, so he thought he could try pawn you off on his friend? Because it's a bit odd he'd come out with such a statement, plus try not justify your actions by saying you're being nice! Either guy, I hope it works out OP

props to you for handling the date so well but hes an idiot....like who brings a friend to a first date

I think it was realy nice of you to include the friend and not maje him feel out. Your date sounds like a a**hole

You probably talked to the friend too much that the date felt left out or jealous. It's his own damn fault for bringing him in the first place though. He had it coming. Maybe you should go out with the friend if he has the sense to not bring a third wheel on a date..

meh, he didn't have the sense not to BE the third wheel on someone else's date. I doubt he had no idea where he was going...

The guy just got jealous, it happens. But yeah, he's not worth it if he acts likes a little kid.

Sounds like an extremely jealous type so you may've dodged a bullet.

A date in a date is not a good idea...
