Today, I went out in a storm to collect my wheelie bin, which had flown down the street. On the way back to my house, I realised my door had slammed shut and locked behind me. That's okay though, a trampoline decided to smash my window and let me in. FML

What the heck is a "wheelie bin"?

It's a bin with wheels on it. It's what councils give you to put the rubbish in. But I'm guessing you're American.

Llamacod 11

Lets be honest here, being american has nothing to do with it. Lack of intellect perhaps, american no.

Honestly, I didn't really understand what a wheelie bin was either, but I assumed it was a piece of OP's property that consisted of wheels and a bin in some form.

I don't think 15 means to be rude. I would also assume that Americans don't have the large plastic bins that other countries have (such as Australia, where I live). Again, I don't think they're calling Americans stupid by that statement.

I agree 13, idk what a wheelie bin is eitherrr! Is it like a garbage can with wheels on it like the one you put at the end of your driveway once a week? Ahhh so confused! Lol

America has them. We just call them garbage bins... I gathered from context clues what the OP was referring to. Lack of intellect had nothing to do with it. The fact that someone didn't know another country's slang doesn't mean that they don't have intellect.

How is it so hard to work that out? Yes it is a bin with wheels. Usually they are big rectangles and there are now ones for garden waste, household waste and recycling. Woohoo!

Wheelie bin sounds nicer than garbage bin.

#13 - A wheelie bin is a bin with wheels. Specifically, it's a bin that goes on the pavement to put rubbish in for the rubbish collectors. Wait... Specifically, it's a trash can that goes on the sidewalk to put trash in for the garbage pickup. Y'all.

#74, "y'all"? Really...? I'm American, and I've never actually heard someone say "y'all" in person. You mad Brits... you're mental, you are. Lassies.

As a matter of fact, i hear yall said about 100 times a day... Atleast.

88- Apparently you've never been in the South.

And what's so bad about being a citizen in the most powerful country in the world? Nothing.

Matty1188 6

We have them in Canada. I think it's a dialect issue. We usually call ours garbage cans.

I'm betting your still working with the large crayons.

See, but Americans do have wheelie bins... or, at least they do in my town, anyway.

What 15 means is that Americans may have another name for it.

Maybe you live in America but obviously not in the south. You should probably actually visit America before making comments on what is not being said in America. Or just keep making ignorant comments

Since you're all slagging me off, I'll explain. I was simply saying they're American because I know they call them garbage cans. I was using the statement as a way of half forgiving them for not knowing what it was. It wasn't a great comment as my wording tends to suffer at half past 11 at night. Sorry for making you waste all your comments

Magical flying contraptions with the sole purpose of making your day significantly worse than originally planned

We generally call them "trash bins" or something similar, 15. I'd like to think it makes sense.

Wow, people, way to miss the point. Of course I'm from the north, and I'm aware that people in the south say "y'all," I'm just saying it's a regional thing, not a national thing. So including "y'all" in his comment would only make sense if he were referring to the south, just as "lassies" only makes sense if I'm referring to Scotland, not all of Britain. And you people ruin it by needing an explanation. smh

#95- You're from Arkansas, so of course you'd hear "y'all" a lot. Have you ever been to the Northeast?

Why did 15's answer get down-voted when it's the truth?

Canada and America calls it a garbage bin. I like the sound of "rubbish" though!

Call the cops on this "trampoline" fella. I've heard nothing but bad things about him. Someone has to do something before it's too late.

bigAC 6

Oh no!!!!! Not the wheelie bin!!!!

Haha followed by a couple of kids chasing it by any chance?

And someone watching at a window saying "oh my god trampoline, look oh my god trampoline"

You're lucky. All the trampolines around where I live are jerks. At least this one was nice enough to help you out

Some days are just not meant to be lived.

At least you didn't have a cannonball smash through your house courtesy of the Mythbusters team.

Llamacod 11

Wow, you had the M.B. Team send a cannonball through your house? You lucky son of a gun...

FYLDeep 25

Yeah, they certainly outdid themselves. I don't know how they managed to fire a cannonball at my house in Green Bay all the way from California.
