Today, I went out to dinner for my mom's birthday. I'd planned for a nice restaurant which is always packed, so I'd called for a reservation. When we got there, the hostess tried to turn us down because no one ever takes their mother out to dinner anymore, and that I was a fraud. FML

OP here. We eventually got into the restaurant with our original reservations, after contacting management. My mother and I tried to not let the hostess spoil the night. The rest of the staff was wonderful and I don't think we'll be seeing much more of that hostess for a long time.

Obviously she just said that because she doesn't treat her mother as nicely! Good for you,OP, I bet your mom was really happy! ^^,

I'm guessing "tried" means you got in eventually? Follow up!

Idk about you all but I try to take my mom out to dinner at least once a month. it's the least I can do for putting up with me

I just don't believe you. That doesn't make any sense.

"Doesn't matter what you think. I have a reservation. Chop chop!"

Wow, you're can tell that, that hostess had no relationship with her mother

I'm interested to know what her boss thought about that? Did you get a free meal on her?

A fraud? What would someone gain from pretending they were bringing their mother out for dinner?

You should've said "unlike you I don't treat my mother like shit. Now, have someone show us to our table, bitch" would've shut her right up ;)

That hostess is an idiot and deserves to be sacked. Good on you for being so nice to your mum. I hope the restaurant gave you your meals for free for having to put up with such a dim witted hostess

I am pretty sure just having a dim witted hostess won't get them any type of gift, especially a free meal. They might be Fl race day to apologize but a free meal is going too far for just one hostess being disrespectful.
