Today, I went out to eat dinner with my family to celebrate my 18th birthday. I playfully put 3 straws between my knuckles to make myself look like Wolverine. I turned to my 6 year old nephew and asked, "Who am I?" He then replied, "An idiot." FML

Today, I went out to dinner with my boyfriend and his mom. The hostess asked if I needed "the kid's menu," remarked how I look "so grown up for your age," and asked what grade I was in. I said I'm in university. She laughed as if it was the best joke ever told. I'm 22. FML

Today, I turned 18. My parents gave me a card that read "now that you're 18, it's time for some boozy fun... you can do all the things you did before but legally!" Taped to the inside was my fake id that I "lost" three months ago. FML

Today, I took my 8 year-old nephew to Laser Tag for his birthday party. I reluctantly was forced into playing one game. Apparently, no one explained the rules to one child, and instead of 'shooting' me with his laser pointer, he kicked me straight in the balls. FML

Just so you all know, I wasn't acting "immature" if you were actually there. Everyone was having a good time and I just felt like entertaining my easily-amused nephew. It wasn't out of immaturity, it was out of just having fun with my nephew...and he just happened to join in on it too, so to say. Parents do playful stuff like that all the time with their kids, just because they're adults, doesn't mean they can't be playful with the young kids.

Yes! Score one for the OP. Geez I'm liking all these OP's who comment their own FML's. I love hearing their point of view past the actual FML. Mak10, you have a very good point, parents do like to have fun with their young SIX-YEAR OLD kids, so why shouldn't older siblings or cousins? So...I've always wondered what happens after FML's, so...what happened next?

Actually, even though he called me an idiot, he joined in on the fun. Not only did he take the three straws, he took everyone's. He managed 9 straws on a single hand and him and his dad called him, "Super Wolverine". My nephew is epic. ;)

Just because it's an FML doesn't mean the situation needs to ruin your life. FML's where a kid talks back are rarely FML's that screw over the OP, but I can see you happen to think there should only be life-changing-my-life-is-totaly-******-forever stories on this site. Lighten up.
