Today, I went out to my car only to find my battery had died the night before. With the wind chill, it was -20°F outside. With the hood open, and jumper cables in one hand, I tried to flag down a passing motorist for help. A man in a truck slowed down, sarcastically waved at me, and kept driving. FML

Today, my car wouldn't start because of the cold weather. Since I was at a friend's house, I asked him to jump-start it. After taking about ten minutes to start his vehicle and park it by mine, we found that both of our car hoods were frozen shut. FML

Today, my car died on a major road, a cop pulled over to help, he offered to jump me, while doing so because my battery was so dead he told me to put the gas on the floor, I did and my car roared to life, he then pulled me over five feet from where my car died to give me a ticket for a loud exhaust. FML

Today, I crashed into a ditch on my way home from work. I had to walk 2 miles in -25 below zero weather before I could pick up a cell phone signal to call a tow truck. When I got back to my car, a cop was waiting for me with a ticket for leaving the scene of an accident. FML

Today, I locked my keys in my car at a gas station. A man stopped to help me with a wire hanger. After about 20 min in the freezing weather, he was getting close to unlocking it when I looked over at the passenger door to see that it was unlocked. All the doors were unlocked but the driver's side. FML

Today, I got into my car and it wouldn't start. I noticed I had left the lights on and assumed the battery was dead. Then, I couldn't get my key out of the ignition. So, I called AAA only to have the guy put my car in park and start the engine. FML

Today, my car broke down on the highway, and I had to call for a tow truck. It finally showed up, only to break down too less than a mile later. Cue nearly freezing to death while we waited for help to arrive for the both of us. FML

Today, my friend's van ran out of gas on an expressway off-ramp. After pushing it to the shoulder, we walked to a gas station and got a can of gas. We got back to the van to find that the battery had died from leaving on the lights and hazards to avoid an accident. FML

Today, I got into a pretty heated argument with my boss. On my way out the door I told him he would be lucky if I came back to work. Unfortunately, I left the interior light on in my truck and it drained the battery. I had to go back in and ask for a jump. FML

It sounds like you were home or at work or somewhere where there's a phone. You said you went out to your car and found out it died the night before. Well, unless you were on the road a night before, there shouldn't be an issue; go inside and call someone for help. It still sucks about that jerk though.

It's not freezing at -20F. It's 52 below freezing. When it's sub zero in Celcius, it's cold. When it's sub zero in Fahrenheit, It's best not to go out because it's a sign of the apocalypse. Since you clearly don't know, freezing in Fahrenheit is 32F.

Why is it always " suck it up it's colder in Canada? " I understand it's very cold in Calgary or wherever it is that you live but some of us aren't used to living in such cold environments. My cousin lives in Alberta and she says the same thing when she visits the states. It's just a little galling...

****, -20 is a hell of a lot warmer than here in Canada, where you walk outside and your balls freeze to your inner thigh. The weather has nothing to do with this FML, because even if it were +20, there would still be asshole drivers unwilling to help. Suck it the **** up OP, call an auto specialist to boost your car and make yourself a ******* hot cocoa while you wait.

The nerve you've got... asking people for help when it's so cold. You should be ashamed of yourself. Next time someone asks for your help, do them a favor and flip them off. They will be grateful.

Plugging your car in has nothing to do with the battery.. in diesels, it turns on the glow plugs. In gas vehicles, it heats the oil pan. Think about it. -.-

You obviously know nothing about Canada, it can get pretty ******* cold and you'd be whining your sorry little ass off if you were outside in -50 Celsious!!!! Which is -58 Farenheit, in case you're too stupid to realize that. Thats what the winters are often like for 2 months out of the year where i live so Shut the **** up.
