Out of curiosity, what was the speech, OP? Maybe what the maid of honor says might not be important to you, but has some sort of inside meaning for the bride/groom. Ever think of that?
Yeah, there could have been some inside joke between them that you don't know about. And from the sound of it, you were too busy talking to even hear what she was saying. Maybe the MoH just got off to a rocky start in her speech. Public speaking isn't easy, I'd like to see you try it.
your mom should show some respect eh?
How do you have time to complain about the lameness of a "three-sentence speech?" The first sentence is usually some predictable pleasantries, so you can decide that the remainder is lame and discuss it with your mom, all within two sentences? Definitely with a three-minute speech you could have a such a discussion and maybe during a three-paragraph speech (A three-hour speech would have seen a massive uptick of FML's), but this idea of taking about the speech in the duration you mentioned is impossible.
Ouch, everyone is so critical. I can relate OP, I was recently at a wedding where the maid of honor got up and literally said one sentence, she clearly did not want to say anything, and I must say the whole family poked fun of her lame lack of speech. It's not like the OP was being super cruel and saying vulgar things about the maid of honor, just poking a bit of fun. You all act like you wouldn't have made a comment, whether during or after if you were listening to something like that. Or at least thought the comment in your head.
Would be an interesting time to talk about the sex habits of the couple being married.

Why would you start talking smack about it DURING the speech? Show a little respect, you bitch.
in case you were too stupid to realise (which you are) weddings are usually conducted by people who haven't done this sort of thing that many times. see how YOU go the first time you give a speech in public.
