Today, I went to our school golf banquet, after being with the team and practicing every day for a few months with them. When it came time to get the certificates, all the names were called out. Except for mine. When I asked the coach where my certificate was, he said "Who are you?". FML

Today, I went to an Honors Convocation for my school. I received a letter a few weeks earlier telling me I received an award. Surprised and proud, I invited my family to join me to see what award I was receiving. I couldn't find my name in the program. I was invited by mistake. FML

Today, we were having a school prize giving. I heard my name called and I walked up to the stage waving and smiling, feeling rather proud of myself. I stood by the microphone and started my acceptance speech, only to be tapped on the shoulder by the girl they'd actually called up. FML

Today, I attended my school's special invitation-only awards ceremony, relieved that I was getting a much-needed scholarship. I watched all my friends go up and win scholarships. In the end, I only got a certificate for doing well on the PSAT. My whole family showed up for this. FML

Today, at the awards ceremony at my school, I ended up winning the top achievement award in my grade. The principal spent at least ten minutes talking about my success to the audience, the whole time referring to me as a "he" as I stood right next to him. I'm a girl. FML

Today, I walked at my graduation ceremony, proudly wearing my valedictorian cords. It turns out that, after some confusion on behalf of the student services office, I was neither valedictorian nor salutatorian (by 0.2 points). I'm dating the actual valedictorian. FML

Today, I was a guest performer for a school orchestra concert a grade above mine. When they called my name, I didn’t hear them, so when they started the song hundreds of people watched me run on stage. FML

Today, I was looking through my high school yearbook. I found a picture of myself and a couple of my friends at our senior prom. The caption gave the names of all my friends, their dates who didn't attend our school, and listed me only as "guest." FML

Today, after being with the company for over 3 years, I realised nobody really knows my name. This was after my boss was walking around a new staff member and couldn't introduce me. Neither could my colleague, who's been sitting next to me for the last 6 months. FML

Unless you were on the team, than that would be pretty harsh, considering your coach doesn't know you. As far as I know, seems like you just followed them. Doesn't make you 'earn' a certificate for going to practices for your own time.

Dear you are like the kid who says, "I am best friends with the most popular girl in school" and follows her around, letting her call you the wrong name. Its pathetic. Do you have a similiar name to another player? I agree "with" sounds suspiciously like you asked to join the team and someone figured you were just practicing with them.

Way to make assumptions and insult the OP. O_o He never said he was a team stalker, his wording just made people imagine that and you throw insults right away...? For all we know, he could be as legitimate as any other team member, and simply not have made an impression. Don't assume and insult.

I doubt he means he was stalking them when he says "being with the team", guys. Seriously. Otherwise, it wouldn't really be an FML. Sounds more like he joined the team but totally didn't make an impression, to the point the coach didn't even remember him. :X

That sucks, but it's really up to you to make yourself stand out. Obviously the OP is not varsity or a really good golfer. I mean really, how many people are on this team that you were able to go unnoticed? I was on the golf team in HS and there were only about 15 of us.

Did it ever occur to you that you didn't get a certificate because you were too new? They probably only give them to players who have been around long enough to go to a few competitions.
