Today, I went to see my gynecologist. She was writing my symptoms up in my chart on her computer. After a little while, I noticed that she had a confused look on her face and was reading something instead. When I took a peek at the computer screen, I saw that she was Googling my symptoms. FML

I've been to 2 different doctor's that searched my problem on wikipedia and then printed the page out for me.

My doc does this, except I live in a country with free healthcare. Hahahaha.

if it's symptoms are rare doctors are encouraged to google it to check for really rare diseases

Even doctors can't know EVERYTHING. I would much rather have a doctor admit they may not know the answer than pretend like they do and get it wrong at my expense and health.

I'd have no issue with a doctor doing research if they don't know what's up. It's the ones who lie and swear they know the problem to cover their ignorance that scare me.
