I'm the one who wrote the FML. I'll clear some things up for those of you who think I deserved it. The FMLs have to be short so I couldn't write the whole story. My main symptoms were severe joint and muscle pain along with cramping and headaches. The stomach pain was constant, not just when I ate bread. I had a hard time even digesting vegetables. I went to doctors practically every week and scoured the internet. I was finally "diagnosed" with fibromyalgia and IBS. My first Celiac blood test came back negative, but finally my gastroenterologist figured it out. I'm now gluten-free, and I'm feeling much better (although hungry). And I'm a pre-med student, so I'm not an idiot. I saw at least 5 different doctors and specialists. I even went to Mayo Clinic. Celiac can be a very difficult diagnosis as the symptoms are often non-specific. Thanks for all the tips on gluten-free food. It's time for me to start cooking!

snap me too!!! but it took me 12 years to diagnose it coz they thought I had reactions too severe for coeliacs
bet you're skinny though~
i have had ceoliac disease my whole life, and i always will, anybody who has ceoliac disease will have always had it and always will. it is not an allergy where you might grow out of it. it is ceoliac diseas, as in its in your genetics and you can't get rid of it. there are worse things then being ceoliac. my brother also has ceoliac disease and he has other allergies which are: soy, strawberies, berries, MSG/GSM, preservatives, egg and a few others. and don't eat gluten (found in barley, wheat, flour, oats, rye) because everytime you eat gluten you damage you intestines. and as a result if you at too much you can end up getting a type of cancer. some people who are ceoliac are also allergic to dairy (because milk comes from cows and cows eat wheat) but there are a lot of foods that are gluten free and you can find them in the "health food" aisle. you can however, buy gluten free flour (self raising as well) so if making a recipe, just replace the flour with the gluten free one. also you can BUY GLUTEN FREE BREAD but its usually more crumbly. but i live in australia and theres this shop called "choices gluten free bread" and they have lots of gluten free food there that actually looks like the real thing and isn't crap. and people who keep writing "its not ceoliac its celiac" its spelt "ceoliac" in australia but the 'O' can be removed. americans spell it "celiac" and about 1 in 80 people will have ceoliac disease, so it isn't uncommon. and i know it sucks, im 15 and every party i go to, every restaurant, even my aunty, i always have to check the food is gluten free. and usually i have to bring my own food to a party which is just embarrasing. if i eat gluten, i throw up. not fun. and chances are, someone you know will probably have ceoliac disease too. i found out 3 of my friends had it.

that does suck. but. didn't the bread just make you feel worse? and if so, why did you keep eating it each time?
Im sorry... I know what that one is like... they thought I had that too. There are plenty of support groups out there, and a lot of alternatives.. keep your head up!!!!
