Today, I went with my fiancé to meet his parents. He was really sweet the whole way there, and once we got there he introduced me as 'the girl I'm going to marry'. His parents took one look at me and said, "Are you sure?" I laughed, because I thought they were joking. They weren't. FML

Well seeing as you got engaged before meeting his parents i'm assuming you hadn't been dating for very long. So it's quite possible that it wasn't anything against you, The "Are you sure" could of meant "Are you sure you want to get married, you haven't been dating long"

you can make them happy... if you know what I mean

one thing i have to say this is your first clue when he says this is my girlfriend i am going to marry! Second clue when the parents say are you sure ,still date him but don't marry him!

ouch. even if it was a short courtship common courtesy would be to be polite in front of you. course if the guy gets on fine with your rents it makes it easy to decide which lot of parents get priority on choosing holiday dinner dates!

OOPS ! they r really rude... it's better u discovered their great personality now THAN later...

While I find it a bit weird that you are engaged but had never met his parents, that still sucks. Especially since they didn't even give you a chance to introduce yourself or talk or anything.
