Today, I went to my company Christmas party. There was a gift raffle and the person who won was the d-bag relative of someone else. I was in line behind them and would have had that ticket. FML. There you go. A glimpse into what the person that rightfully would have won might have felt. It wasn't your company party. You probably got free food. Be happy with that.
#14 shut up
Oh, okay #16. You have shown me the error of my ways and I retract my opinion.
Well duh, how would you have felt if you were an employee and someone who doesn't even work there gets a prize. Plus, it's not that big of a big prize. Would it have been about hundreds of dollars, then FYL. Now, YDI for thinking you deserved that prize. ;)
WTF lol that suucks Dx
at #12: haha i was totally thinking "giraffe?" lmao! Must be just us :)
Well... Fair Policy really, only workers win!
Really? Your life is ****** because you didn't get a $25 gift card? That restaurant better be damn good for you to have a ****** life.
It's an understandable mistake though, what with the title of the website and all.
^ win
Thats why u grab the card and run!!!
they should have had some kind of notice or something. or just not allow you to enter. it'd be smarter to have a sign that says only employees may enter, instead of walking up and taking back the prize after he won it, possibly looking like an asshole in the process
Why would they need a notice at a company party? How often do you think people off the street manage to make their way in? They have no reason to believe that the guests are anyone except employees and spouses of employees.
Umm. most company Christmas parties are for the employees and their families. Husbands take wives, wives take their husbands, people take their children, that kind of thing. I would imagine that since the OP went with their sister then their sister was probably told that it was ok and possibly encouraged even to bring family members. Therefore if the raffle is only for the people who actually work there, they should have a notice that only employees may enter.
I'd say everyone got a plus one to bring. Just because OP was a sister not a spouse doesn't mean she should be not allowed win...

And the problem with pretending it belonged to your sister was...?
I would think they would've told you that before you entered the raffle.
