Today, after saving for 3 years, I woke up with enough money to buy my first nice car with a small loan to cover the rest. Then I spilled a drink on my laptop. My computer-savvy boyfriend insisted turning it off and letting it dry out would fix it. Nope. Maybe next year, dream car. FML

You didn't have enough money for the car if you didn't have an emergency fund to cover stuff like your laptop. Sorry about your laptop though, that sucks.

*sigh* There's Broken and then there's *BROKEN* What was spilled on the system? Did it just get on the keyboard, or did it get into the mainboard/other parts? Was the system turned on ? All these things matter when it comes to liquid damage. Sometimes, your system can be saved. Sometimes you just need to replace a keyboard. Sometimes.... Pfft, It's all gone, you got coffee with milk and sugar in your MoBo and your screwed.
