Today, I wore flip-flops to work. Just as I walked onto the elevator, they made a sound very close to that of a fart. About 10 seconds later, some asshole let out a silent but deadly fart, earning me a bunch of disgusted looks. FML

Today, I was in the elevator with my boss when I accidentally let rip the vilest, most horrifying fart of my life as we left the first floor. We stood in silence as the elevator slowly ascended to the 21st floor, leaving us to marinate in the fumes. FML

Today, at work, I had to use the bathroom to urinate. It's basically in an open plan office, so everyone can hear absolutely everything. After successfully and discreetly doing my business, I noticed a bit of dirt on the wall. I gave it a rub with my thumb on the smooth tile. It sounded exactly like a loud fart. FML

Today, I was going over some paperwork with my back to my office door. As I turn around, my boss enters and says my name loudly. I was startled so bad that I jumped, yelped, and a high-pitched fart snuck out. Everyone in the office now gives prior notice before dropping by the "fart guy's" office. FML

YDI thats what you get for wearing flu flops to work. I am not sure what job that you take an elevator in, has a dress code that includes flip flops, but that just would not fly at my work place.

That it wouldn't fly in your workplace really doesn't mean it doesn't fly in others. I work at a fair-sized computer software company. Elevators, no dress code, and a few people -- including some who presumably have pretty high salaries -- who don't bother with shoes at all.

In what world does wearing flip flops to work make embarrassment about a farting incident deserved? They're in no way related. I could understand op deserving it if he wore flip flops to work and got fired or something, but these two situations in no way relate.
