Today, in class, we were discussing stereotypes. We were asked about common ones about nearby cities. A guy said, "Well, they say Lumberton has the prettiest girls." My teacher asked if any of us were from Lumberton, so I raised my hand. The guy quickly said, "Nevermind." FML

Today, our class was focusing on discrimination, and our teacher asked us if anyone had ever felt discriminated against. I put my hand up to share a story, and my teacher immediately said "It's because you're ginger, isn't it?" That's not what I was going to say. FML

Today, I went to the grocery store and saw a guy I thought I recognized. I walked up to him and said, “Hey, are you so-and-so from high school?” He looked at me blankly and said, “Nope, don’t know you.” To cover up my embarrassment, I blurted out, “Well, you should! I was the funniest person in our class!” He stared at me for a second before replying, “OK, I’m calling security.” FML

OP here! I didn't have an account when i posted this FML, but yes I am talking about the Lumberton in TX for you curious peoole out there! Update: After laughing it off with my classmates still hurt, the guy apologized assuring me he was only kidding. Although it did embarass me, I didn't take it to heart! & thank you for the mostly nice comments. :)

Honestly...I would have just kept quiet regardless of if I was from there or not. You know you're going to be automatically judged as soon as that hand goes up.
