maybe the father was joking:P.....?
YDI for proposing in front of many people, IMO a proposal should be done in private between two people so the person doesn't feel obligated to accept because so many are watching. Maybe that's why she "fainted" ;)
rofl!! I take it you did not seek his approval first?
That...is one AWESOME father
Awww, I guess daddy doesn't like you. LOL
Umm, a proposal isn't legally binding in the first place. It has the legal equivalent of a piece of paper asking "Do you like me? Check yes or no." Her father is a crappy lawyer.
A true professional.
I hate to break it to a lot of the people who commented on this one, but most lawyers are not experts on the law itself, even though they went to law school. They find the best way to interpret the law that benefits their clients. That is why paralegals have jobs, as they do the research that they are given in a "I want to say this in court, so find me the stuff that keeps the judge from laughing in my face or my losing my job" situation. As for that father, sounds like Robert DiNero's character from Meet The Parents.... and that is not funny in real life, because fathers like that need a busted nose for pulling that shit.
