I have only attended one Black Friday. Got a tv for 2O dollars, which was before flat screens and plasma was invented lol Hey, I thought I was cool to have my own tv when I was like 12 lol But ever since I heard people bringing guns to places and getting trampled and dying, I dont think getting something half off is worth someones life.

My friend drove past toys r us and said the line was wrapped all the way around the building. Three hours before the doors even opened. I'll spend the extra $30 and order the stuff online!

That seems so weird to me!! I live in Canada and we don't have Black Friday. So it's kinda crazy to me that everyone's going all shopping crazy and trampling over people to get to things! That seems like something from the movies, not real life! Like even Boxing Day isn't that crazy here! Is it the same as boxing day for you guys or is boxing day worse?? I know I'm making myself sound completely ignorant, sheltered and naive, ive just never experienced it so it's weird. And the weirdest part is that black Friday is associated with thanksgiving right? And not Christmas?? What is Black Friday anyway? Like what's the reason behind it? Anybody know?? Oh, and happy black Friday to you all, hope your thanksgiving was great as well as the food and company!!

I'd say out of the two holidays, Black Friday is the worse one. I've never heard about people getting trampled and killed on Boxing Day.

From what I understand, it's called Black Friday because it's always the day that the stores become "in the black" financially (meaning they're going to make more than they've spent for the year).

Americans are retarded, I'm canadiens and 13 and even I know what it is. in 1929, during the great deppresion, the first black Friday ever had happened, signalling the crash of the stock market. on the yearly anniversary of that event stores put on there lowest prices.
