What's the aggregate literacy rate of civic owners globally? 10, 12%? Perhaps this your parents idea of getting you interested in books while providing enough pictures to keep the attention span in check. That, or they're attempting to get you interested in a hobby that is at least partially constructive.

Are you kidding me? Unless you've been living under a rock, you have to be aware that tons of people are being laid off. Cars are expensive, and you're parents probably can't afford a car. If you want a car so badly, get a job and buy one yourself. You freaking deserve it for being selfish and materialistic. Just be grateful for what you have
