Today, was my 16th birthday and I was supposed to be surprised with a new car. I have overheard my parents talking about bringing it home tonight while I was at a friend's house. We snuck back to my house to see them bring my car home. All I saw was my Dad crash my new car into a street lamp. FML

not really a fml you have parents who would buy you a car for your birthday and i really doubt they wouldn't spend the money to fix it up for you

What your dad probably should have done was just park it in the garage or driveway, rather than drive it into a street lamp. Now it's all banged up...

I got a party where 3 friends showed up. My mom's boyfriend "accidentally" wrecked the cake. I invited 30 people and only 3 showed up.

Everyone get over yourselves. The OP was NOT bitching about the fact that they get a car. They were probably very grateful and excited. The OP was saying FML because they witnesses their birthday present getting badly damaged. I am not that privileged either, but you guys need to learn how to read properly. Really. Today, It was my daughter's 16th birthday. After discussing it with my wife, we decided to get her a car and bring it home while she was at a friends house. As I was backing it into the garage, I hit the lamp post, and then I saw her and her friend peeking and squealing from the backyard. FML

Lol, what happens is that your insurance rates might go up. After all, you probably are using the same insurance as your two parents. Plus, if you're a teenaged boy, then your rates are extremely high. That sucks big time

wow some people are so spoiled that when their parents buy them a new car for their 16th birthday, and they make a mistake by crashing it they get pissed you should be thankful you even got a ****** car, who cares if there happens to be a little damage on it it's brand new, mos people don't get a car when their 16, on top of hat your parents payed for it. Oh yeah and the car was probably insured too that's what auto insurance is for you spoiled brat

no angry because that ain't an fml OP shouldn't complain about something like that, she is actually lucky, because a lot of people don't have anything to eat, but her parents, spend enough money to feed a lot of people on her car, damn i really wouldn't care if it was crashed, never look a gift horse in the mouth
