Today, it's New Year's Eve, and I'm waiting at the pharmacy for antibiotics for a sinus infection. A week ago, on Christmas Eve, I was in the exact same spot waiting for antibiotics for strep throat. Could I please have one holiday without being sick? FML

Antibiotics are definitely needed for strep throat!! To prevent rare but potential complications !

Hate to break it to you, but most sinus infections are viral. It's highly unlikely to be anything bacterial since you should still be finishing a 10 day course of antibiotics from the last infection anyhow. Rest, fluids, and a decongestant should be enough. Overuse of antibiotics is a really bad thing.

Find a religion who's holidays do not fall on your regular sick days and convert.

With all the antibiotics, you should pick up some Monistat too, or you'll be in line to fix the itch too..

How's your hygiene? Wash your hands and get aware of what you do with your hands when you touch surfaces that are communal like railings. That's how illness spreads. Grab a railing a sick person touched, wipe your eyes or nose or eat food without washing your hands and you've infected yourself. Carry hand sanitizer, it'll save you some grief.

I was sick from Dec1-Dec25 on antibiotics from the 17th to the 27th. Sinus ear and upper respiratory infection.
