Today, it was my 18th birthday and I was told I couldn't get the night off work because a party of 34 had booked into the restaurant. It turned out my family had come in to 'celebrate' by making me wait on them. They were a nightmare, thought it was hilarious to be difficult, and didn't tip. FML

As a former waiter I feel your pain. It would be entirely within your rights to not speak to your family for several days.

Okay OP, I promise I'm not being sarcastic or mean when I say this: Happy birthday. I'm sorry your family were horrible to you, but you can get your own back soon!

Sorry about that... :/ Happy Birthday!!!

It's a truly amazing feat that such a huge brigade of a family can ALL be miserable assholes. Mob mentality? Leave them in the dust, OP. Things will get better. Happy birthday!

how did you manage to get stuck with a family of 34 a$$holes!? op that really sucks. *hugs* happy birthday anyways, yo.

For the 1000+ people who said he deserved it: how??

There are many challenged people out there.

Thats some bs... Sorry your day sucked, but happy birthday wishes anyway.

And you never had to worry about getting them gifts for anything ever again, although honestly they all probably thought they were just being funny, and a few words like "rude bunch of jackasses" directed in an unmistakably non joking tone might wake them up. If not a few events passing with no gifts or acknowledgment from you might lead to the realization of just how not funny this was.

i would have honestly walked out. i wouldnt care about needing the job. id rather keep my dignity than be messed with like that.
