Today, it was my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend. As we were about to exchange gifts, he got a call and said he had to go home immediately. What was the emergency? His guild leader couldn't find another healer to finish a raid and promised my boyfriend gear if he would step up. FML

Fake I'm pretty sure if he were to be playing a game it would be WoW and WoW has no raids at the moment. Other then 1 Heal easy last exp content

I love WoW (huge nerd). I used to play with my ex all the time, and now that we're broken up I still do.. I understand the crazy addiction video games can create, more than I want to, but your boyfriend is an ass. 2 year anniversary?! Come on, video games are awesome but that's one night! One night he should want to spend with you and not on a comp/console.

When everyone thought we didn't exist and that the only proof was "**** or gtfo". I don't care as much now but even at school if I'm talking about games, it's with guys. As a girl who plays video games, especially in a small town, it's hard to find any females who enjoy the same thing and are local, therefore it can feel a bit like you're seperate from other women I suppose. It's just a thing, guys use it sometimes referring to girls too. My explanation might be a bit off but hey, when did you take it upon yourself to decide what we call ourselves.

Being a girl who also enjoys video games myself, I don't care what you call yourselves. You can call yourself BitchtitsMcgee for all I care, I just said it was annoying and stupid. Labels and whatnot etc. etc.

One of the definitions of nerd, is being obsessive towards a non social activity. Someone who tries to excel in this specific subject. I am willing to admit that is how I can get towards certain video games, so calling myself a nerd towards WoW seems to be an accurate description of my mindset. Not a "stupid" label.

Hah! You're joking right? Playing MMO's ( ESPECIALLY one like WoW ) is anything BUT a non social activity. But I'm sooo certain that that's the definition that's gone through your mind every time you've called yourself a "nerd", right? In today's society it's used as a hollow title most gamers ( mostly girls, go figure! ) like to call themselves because it makes them feel quirky or different, and that's how you use it, whether you want to admit to it or not. I'm sorry OP :( Knowing how my boyfriend is, he would probably ask me to come along if it was something like that on a "monthaversary" as we're in now, but if it was a one year or a two year, he probably wouldn't have left. But don't be too harsh on him, unless you had to deal with this a lot of times before. Then just have a serious talk about how that's not ok. Talk, not breakup because he's a douche like I see on here all the time.

That's a pretty asshole move by your boyfriend, but I get a feeling my boyfriend and him would get along! The only difference is that I'm a part of the same hardcore raidteam. Has done wonders for our relationship... Not saying you should accept this on your anniversary, but maybe give it a go?
