used to have this in previous job... stopped answering the phone and said i was busy following day. self care is more important
They know you're a pushover so they call you first. The initial 'no' on your part is the hardest. After that, it gets much easier. Believe me, I've been there too. Good luck!
you are reliable and always say yes, that is why they always calling you in. There is some advantages like extra pay. hang in there someone is bound to notice your efforts, either a promotion or another job offer will come your way
Yoi need to learn to say no. Unless you are in a managerial position its not your problem. If you ate in management its time to do your job and weed out the bad seeds.
If you're already employed full time and make enough money to get by without the additional shifts, then just don't answer the phone if you can't say no. You can give them a ring back in x amount of hours when they surely must've already found cover and apologise for forgetting your phone or whatever - if that would make you feel better. If it's one of those 0-hour contracts where you're worried you won't get offered more if you don't accept the ones they give - I mean, yes there is a possibility, but if no one else gets reprimanded and slacks off all the time, it's not likely, so you should be able to get away with saying no every now and again. Both cases, start hunting for a new place! Or the very least ask for a raise, promotion - something that recognises your effort!
I'm not even supposed to be here today.
then say no? or dont answer? did you think of THAT

Stop answering the damn phone
I've been in the same situation quite a bit. There comes a time when you need to just say no (if you're not in a position where you're required to pick up shifts) or you'll burn out. Self care is important too!
