I feel for OP. When I lived with my parents, my dad was always working so my mom had to take care of the home, but she relied on me to do it. I was working a full-time job, studying and I had to clean, cook, take care of dogs, cats and a pig all because she was too tired...Apparently sitting on the couch can make someone exhausted.
probably goes out to smoke a spliff
Thanks mom............I wouldn't cook at all if I found that out.
Oh, you know, accidents happen.
37-Speaking as a full time house mom of a low income family, this is false. We cannot afford luxuries like a dishwasher so I clean all of our dishes by hand. I also do all of the cooking by hand, without "cooking utils" and I peel my own potatoes. There are plenty of reasons to be a full time house mom, especially with day care prices the way they are, staying at home with my babies is cheaper than putting them in day care, and I get to spend time with my children, instead of someone else taking care of them all day, not that there is anything wrong with day care for those who can afford it. You shouldn't jump to conclusions. Some people choose to be a house mom and raising children and taking care of the home is a full time job, one without monetary benefits. Also, just because housekeeping is easier now than in the past, doesn't mean it isn't a lot of work.
Yea i personally don't think the issue was whether or not OP had to cook, but that her mum couldn't just ask her, or negotiate with her.
Your mom seems extremely smart. I like it.

Lazy people can come with many titles, her's just happens to be Mom.
She could've nicely asked for help instead.
