Today, my 15 year-old daughter got kicked out of her cheerleading squad because she was overweight. I heard one of the cheerleaders say, "She must be overweight because her mom is." FML

I was on the cheerleading squad when I was 10. It was only JV, but we still had to try out for it and it was only my first year and all the varsity cheerleaders that year had been doing it for years. There were plenty of girls who didn't make either squad, most of whom were not overweight. I did have years of experience dancing since I was 4, so I'm sure that helped. Regardless, unless she was skinny when she joined and then gained weight, I don't think they should kick her off the squad...She should just have never made it in the first place if they didn't want overweight girls.

And this is the cause of anorexia and bulimia people. They are stupid little bitches, don't Listen to them OP

As a cheerleader, I apologize on their behalf. They would never do that on my team, they would actually work with the girl (or guy) on getting healthier. That's effed up.

Yeah, that sucks. It's okay to be overweight, that's just the way some people are built. And even if you aren't naturally built that way, as long as you're happy and eat a balanced diet, there isn't much of a problem with it. It hurts when someone calls you overweight but if it's such a. Bad thing for you, then maybe lose some pounds. But it that doesn't feel necessary, you're fine the way you are.

Not FYL. F your daughters. That is totally unfair and devastating

Way to put the Pity on yourself rather than your Daughter

So, my mom was overweight and I am underweight. Not everyone inherits their weight from their mother, sheesh.
