Today, my 20-year-old son's external hard-drive stopped working. He's crying on my shoulder now, not because of the movies, porn, work, or music he probably lost, but because of the now irretrievable complete series of Digimon that he'd collected. FML

Digimon, best thing that involves fake and unbelievable animals or whatever they are.

Good lord OP, have you no heart? The man is hurting, and frankly I would cry my eyes out too if I had lost my collection of Digimon episodes. Hell I'm still trying to find them online; That was my ENTIRE childhood.

It's really not that pathetic. It's a nostalgia thing. He feels really connected to it because it was probably a big part of his childhood. I would just pat him on the back and try to find SOME WAY to get it back. Good luck OP.

I wouldn't know what you guys were talking about because i was an extremely sheltered child. My mom pretty much let me watch PBS and sometimes spongebob and other nicktoons show. I don't even think i was allowed to watch ed, edd, and eddy. I didnt watch pokemon, digimon, or yu-gi-oh. I never even watched naruto until 7th grade. Lol i still watch caillou anyway sooo....

Haha. I'll watch Arthur & Curious George every once in a while. :)

He may be able to recover his files, depending on how bad the drive is damaged. Just google around for some solutions.

story of my life. my hard drive recently broke too, im still trying to fix it. but yea i dont go to my mom and cry on her shoulder. i just cuss and yell and be pissed all day.

I LOVE that all the digi-haters are getting thumbed down. Digimon instantly takes me back to 5th grade and old friends and memories. :'D

There are ways to retrieve files from crashed external hard drives, there is nothing to cry about.

He can just download it again online, though. No need to cry. I watched it all over again just last year, so I'm sure it can't be hard to recollect. Kudos to him, though. Also, I personally think you should be proud that your son is not ashamed of liking things and admitting to liking things regardless of silly social standards instead of thinking of it as bad. Not caring what "people" will think is very rare and useful skill these days. I'm glad to know your son is the kind of open minded person that is aware that what you like doesn't define how old or "grown up" you are, and that only little kids think they are more mature for not doing "kids stuff".
