Today, my 6-year-old daughter watched The Lion King for the first time. Now, whenever I ask her to do something, she replies "Hakuna Matata" and doesn't even get up. I think she took "no worries" to mean "don't give a shit about anything". FML

When she asks for something, tell her Hakuna Matata. She'll soon get the idea!

In real lif the time is now to teach her how to be a human and that Disney movies (nor most movies, for that matter) are not models for real life. Off that's not how you want to approach the situation, I vote for #47s suggestion.

This is the first time i heard a kid take something from a disney film so literally..

Timone and Pumba are the best.

The whole point of the movie is that that philosophy isn't a practical way to live life

Hawkins matata totally means give no *****

That's going to be one spoiled ass child. Way to parent, YDI.

That's because that whole sequence is literally "don't give a shit about anything" that wasn't about "growing up" or "being yourself" that song is about "**** everyone else gonna do what I want" The rest of the movie is him figuring out that "Hakuna Matata is a bad idea" sounds like your kid needs the same lesson.
