Was it control + shift + N?
My grandad also taught me the same things! Turned out that in the 1980s, you didn't have things like a mouse or icons. It was just the keyboard and lines of text, for word processing and spreadsheets. Using shortcuts really saves time, so it's just an old school method which still applies to today's computers. Sounds like she's a bit of a computer veteran :)
The older, the wiser
Don't feel to bad OP, keyboard shortcuts are the simplest way to do commands on the computer, it's possible that's the only way she knew how to, I'm curious what the shortcut is because I have a feeling I don't know it too.
That would make OP feel worse for not knowing simple things.
Go granny!
Wel;, if you rely mostly on the mouse, that's not to surprising. As a blind person, using the mouse isn't really an option, so everything I do is via keyboard shortcuts. Needless to say, I know a shit ton of them.
I'm kinda curious as to which short cut it was.
I hope it was control + f, that thing is amazing.
CTRL-S is one of my personal favorites!
Never underestimate the power of ⌘ + C and ⌘ + V :D
