Today, my boss came up to my desk to talk about a new project. He came up to my monitor so we can go to a website. My browser had frozen and I couldn't close it. The tabs I had open: Facebook, Gmail, Careerbuilder, Monster, and Resume Samples. FML

well, maybe if you weren't such a noob...you'd know how to close that frozen browser.

my boss wouldn't have cared as long as I wasn't on the phone too

wow. yeah, you should have turned off the monitor or forced the computer to quit, but at least it wasn't ****

I hate when my computer freezes! Mostly, I hate that sometimes they freeze at the wrong times in front of the wrong people.

OK, someone said CTRL + ALT + DEL. I'm telling you Windows + L locks your machine, and Windows + D (or Windows + M) minimizes all and shows the desktop. You could also have cold-booted. YDI. Good luck with your next job.

windows-l would've been useless because the boss wanted to use the comp, so he would just tell him to unloick. same for win-d or win-m, because the boss wanted to use the browser, but additionaly, if the browser froze, chances are that wouldn't minimize it. cold boot (you got the terms mixed up, cold boot is booting after the computer wasn't used, e.g. is "cold". what you mean is hard reboot) would only have worked if done before the boss came in (right after the browser froze), but it's still stupid because it can lead to data loss and has a chance to damage the drive. CTRL-ALT-DEL (or rather, ctrl-shift-esc) would've been much better, if done before the boss came in. Please never give anyone any computer advice anymore.

Internet Explorer strikes again! YDI for not using Firefox.
