op here! Turns out I sorta kinda went over her head about it and now my vacation time has been approved! Of course said manager wasn't happy, but of course I went to HR about it and they seemed to have taken care of it. So starting June 22nd I will be on a cruise with my lovely wife!

I hope for you that her husband never stops to f**** her!
Yeah I'd just go if I were you. Decent chance you will regret not doing it if you don't. Plus if someone ever asks you about it, it would be pretty awkward if you had to say that you didn't even have one. Good luck with all that though.
Yeah having a honeymoon isnt worth losing a job.
Yes it is. Getting married is a special time in your life. There are always other jobs.
I never had a honeymoon and don't find it awkward when people ask. OP should contact her HR dept though (if she has one) if she has vacation time her boss can't deny her just because she's bitter. I wouldn't be losing my job over it though, coming back from a trip with no way to pay your bills sounds like a bad idea.
That's one vindictive bitch
Insanely bitter! I don't know who to feel more sorry for in this FML. But FYL indeed, OP. I hope you'll figure something out.
It's always the crazy or dumb ones that end up in power....
what a bitch. sorry OP and i hope she pulls her head out of her ass and gives you the time off. congratulations :)
sorry OP..not the memories you want of your honeymoon. if you have vacation time you are entitled to take it...try to explain it to your hr team. if there isnt one, i would sit down with your boss...or their boss to explain they dont need to approve the reason why you are going on vacation...all while looking for a new job to escape bat s*it crazy! good luck. ;)
She is extremely jealous! There are some terrible bosses out there, looks like yours is one of them. I hope it all works out for you

That seems highly unreasonable. If your company has one, try contacting HR. Whilst your boss signs off your holidays, in some workplaces HR needs to approve them as well (basically to log them). So, they should be able to help.
Bring her along.
