Today, my boyfriend and I celebrated our six-month anniversary. And by that, I mean he brought along his obnoxious best friend, and I paid for everyone's dinner at an expensive restaurant. FML

Today, it's our fifth-year anniversary with my boyfriend. I gave him his gift and walked over to the kitchen to serve him some food I'd made. On my way back to the dining room, I overheard his plans with his friend to ditch me in 10 minutes. FML

Today, it was my one year anniversary with my boyfriend. We had dinner reservations to an expensive restaurant and planned to see a movie after. At least, we did, until he called to tell me he'd volunteered to work tonight. He won't get off until 2am. FML

Today, I treated my friends to lunch at a posh restaurant because it's my birthday. While we were walking leisurely around the mall afterwards, their boyfriends showed up. I spent the next few hours walking alone behind them while they were walking hand in hand with their boyfriends. FML

I would suggest talking to him about it, but guys that are generally this clueless aren't going to change or they know and don't care. I had a 6 month quiet dinner at home with my ex for a year we did something nice for dinner and went out to a comedy club for dinner. Six months in is generally when you start seeing signs of what kinda of person they really are.

I would have told him that you weren't going to be paying, or even going. I'd stay home and he could go spend the time with his friends. And No, he couldn't come over afterwards.
