Today, my boyfriend and I had a disagreement over the pronunciation of the word "train." It turned into a heated debate that lasted all night and ended with us sleeping in separate rooms. FML

There comes the moment in most arguments when you should stop and reevaluate whether it's worth the effort to prove your point...

British vs Australian vs American vs Irish accents differ, and wherever OP lives might be a place where these accents layover due to differences in ancestry in the population. It's understandable but I think the two of you need to either agree to disagree or pull put the dictionary.

Really? Just look at the way the British pronounce it and realise you are working with a second user vocabulary!

How can you mispronounce that? In any case, sometimes you have to learn to pick your battles. Is it really worth an argument?

The only other way I could think it's possibly been pronounced is trayin..?

Twaaaayyyyyne, Twan... Tain.... Sorry, this really doesn't work does it? TR-AINE.
