Today, my boyfriend and I had a disagreement over the pronunciation of the word "train." It turned into a heated debate that lasted all night and ended with us sleeping in separate rooms. FML

You realize it sounds like you're saying "terrain," not "train," right? It all depends upon your location; therefore, your accent. It's more widely popular, and therefore accepted, to say ch-rain than t-rain

I tried to pronounce it differently to how I usually say it, but it's really hard to come up with different pronunciations unless I change my accent. If it's a case of accent changing the word, then you really shouldn't be arguing over it. Unless one of you is pronouncing it "octopus", it's not like it's a problem.
