Today, my boyfriend and I had a disagreement over the pronunciation of the word "train." It turned into a heated debate that lasted all night and ended with us sleeping in separate rooms. FML

There's more than one way to pronounce train??

Just let him say it how he wants Op. Let him sound like an idiot, Someone will tell him eventually he is saying it wrong. Then you can rub it in his damn face.

You know what I take what I said back. I don't know which one of you is saying it wrong. So Op who is saying it wrong?

It means OP's mother is going to become a bitch soon, obviously.

You realize it sounds like you're saying "terrain," not "train," right? It all depends upon your location; therefore, your accent. It's more widely popular, and therefore accepted, to say ch-rain than t-rain

I tried to pronounce it differently to how I usually say it, but it's really hard to come up with different pronunciations unless I change my accent. If it's a case of accent changing the word, then you really shouldn't be arguing over it. Unless one of you is pronouncing it "octopus", it's not like it's a problem.

Tweedle dee and tweedle dumber.

Sounds like your relationship is going off the rails. I'm a-freight that if you keep getting steamed, you'll get so off-track it'll take an engineer to conduct you back to intimacy. If not, one of you will sever the ties and kick the other out on their caboose.

Sounds like both of you missed the train. Take the bus next time cause I'm not sure a plane would work for you guys either.

As long as the word being said is UNDERSTOOD, it should matter how it's pronounced
